Can you imagine tapping into today's smart technology to develop your child's full learning potential using only the friendliest huggable method?
Thanks to IBM and Elemental Path, there's this excellent line of smart toys called CogniToys that use the power of Watson, IBM's super powerful computer, to give it brains.
The startup company Elemental Path said CogniToys is a new range of cuddly talking toys that harness the power of Watson and IBM's digital technology to help kids learn. It's connected to Watson via the Internet.
Marketed for 4- to 7-year-old kids, CogniToy is able to recognize speech and remember names. It can also ask and answer questions and tell jokes. One of the first CogniToys is a smart talking Dino that will be available by November for only $89.
Beneath Dino's cute and cuddly green skin is Watson's cognitive computing and natural language processing system.
In a report by Yahoo news, kids are said to be able to interact with this smart GreenDino by pressing a buttons in its belly and talking to it.
When a kid asks a question, GreenDino process it and connects to Watson servers to search for answers. The toy subsequently responds via a Yoda like voice with a head cold.
GreenDino basically shares sme features with Apple's Siri. This smart toy also promises to teach kids to spell, count, and enrich their vocabulary.
What sets it apart from its competition is its capability to monitor your child's progress. CogniToy will subsequently ask sophisticated questions and provide detailed answers as the child progresses, according to Engadget.
The company is currently trying to raise $50,000 on its Kickstarter campaign to make to toys available.
