“Descendants of the Sun” actor Song Joong-ki is reaping the fruit of his popularity in China and South Korea that for the first six months of 2016, he earned 1 billion in South Korea for endorsements and another 20 million won in China.
However, he is also paying the price for it by losing his privacy. People stop at his parent’s house in Seoul and take selfies in front, which bothers the 30-year-old actor. He has also complained of photos of his former non-celebrity girlfriend leaking in social media and details of his passport posted online after one of his trips to China for a fan meet.
The latest episode happened on Monday, July 4, when a female fan in the US recognized Song Joong-ki even if he came in incognito at the MLB match at Dodger Stadium between the LA Dodgers and Baltimore Orioles.
AllKop reported that the 30-year-old Hallyu star wore a black hood, sunglasses and a cap so he could blend in with the crowd. Unfortunately for Song Joong-ki, the woman took a photo of the fans watching the game opposite where she was seated, and upon staring at the faces, recognized the “Descendants of the Sun” actor.
She lost no time in posting the photo on her Instagram account with the caption, “Apparently, I took a photo of a Korean actor by accident! Song Joong-ki was in the crowd at the Dodger game last night! I think I finally got the name right!”
The photo became viral and was shared across several social media sites which just confirmed Song Joong-ki’s superstar status and should be a reminder to him to use a better disguise if he wants not to be recognized in public places.
