Fans who missed "Supergirl" Season 1 will now have the chance to catch up the well loved superhero series on its new home network, The CW. The network will broadcast two episodes of Season 1 ahead of the "Supergirl" Season 2 premiere, where Superman will be appearing on the first few episodes.
The CW will air two episodes every Monday until the next season is released on Oct. 10. "Supergirl" was originally aired on CBS.
"Supergirl" Season 2 will welcome Superman (Tyler Hoechlin) where he will be seen in full in the first two episodes of the new season, according to Cinema Blends. In "Supergirl" Season 1, he was frequently seen at the backlit and was not shown in full because the producers of the show want to establish Kara Danvers/ Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) character as a hero without depending on her cousin Superman.
"Greg, Ali and I are beyond thrilled to welcome Clark Kent and his slightly-more-famous alter ego to the world of 'Supergirl,'" Variety quoted Executive Producer Andrew Kreisberg as saying. "Superman will be appearing in the first two episodes of the new season and we cannot wait to see who next dons the red cape!"
"Supergirl" has already featured a "Superman" alum, Dean Cain, who appeared in ""Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman." Cain now plays as Kara's adoptive father Jeremiah Danvers. With this trend, the publication teased that there could be a chance to see the "Legends of Tomorrow" star Brandon Routh, who played the Man of Steel in the 2006 "Superman Returns" in one of the future episodes.
"Supergirl" Season 2 will see the return of Kara Zor-El as she takes her responsibility to guard the humans against sinister threats and crimes. Despite her wish to conceal her superpowers, her responsibility to save the humankind still remains her ultimate goal.
Apart from Superman, Wonder Woman (Lynda Carter) will recur as the President of the United States. New characters, including Lena Luthor and Snapper Carr will also be seen in the new season.
"Supergirl" Season 1's 20 hours will be seen starting Aug. 1. "Supergirl" Season 2 will air Mondays at 8 p.m. on The CW.
