According to the latest reports, Google is said to be working on a set of two Android Wear watches, which will be released soon after the announcement of Google Nexus 2016 devices. The watches are likely to be Nexus-branded and will feature Google Assistant integration.
A source told Android Police that one of these Nexus watches will be bigger, sportier, and fully-featured in regard to LTE, GPS and heart rate. The second one, on the other hand, will be smaller and will not feature mobile data or GPS.
The larger Nexus watch, which is believed to be codenamed Angelfish, will bear the same resemblance to LG's Urbane 2nd Edition LTE or Moto 360, although with its own distinctiveness. The design will exhibit visible lugs, embracing a smooth shape that curves in the area between the body of the watch and its band.
Angelfish will, further, have three buttons. The first one will be a circular crown centered along the right side of the body, while the other two will be short and circular above and below it.
At 14mm, Angelfish will be a thick watch cross-sectionally, triggering possibilities of a larger battery to power the LTE chipset. Its diameter will be approximately 43.5mm, making it smaller than the Moto 360.
Angelfish may become a "standalone" Android Wear Device because of its GPS, LTE, and heart-rate monitor features. Enthusiasts, further, believe that it will come in mate dark grey finish.
On the other hand, the smaller Nexus watch, codenamed Swordfish, will not bear an internal screen bezel. Its portion of the body that surrounds the watch face will be larger, and its shape will be more gentle and rounded.
According to ZD Net, Swordfish will not include GPS and LTE. Rather, it will possess interchangeable bands and a design that resembles that of Apple Watches. Its body will have a 42mm diameter with a single button centered at the right-side of the body.
Both Nexus watches will have Google Assistant integration along with support for contextual notifications. Reports also cite a possibility of extra features that are not found on other third-party watches running Android Wear OS.
