"Sister Wives" season 8 is in danger of being axed by TLC.
According to Ecumenical News, the producers of the show are still in talks with the network on whether or not they should renew the reality TV series.
In season 7, the Brown family was shaken up by a lot of controversies including Meri's catfishing scandal with a woman who posed as a man.
During the Tell-All episode for the series, the members of the Brown family shared their reaction towards the scandal that Meri was involved in.
Meri's estranged husband Kody showed support for the former by saying that he knows for a fact that she didn't have an online relationship with Jacquelyn Jackie Overton.
In fact, Kody added that Meri was threatened and manipulated online by the catfisher.
Meanwhile, "Sister Wives" season 8 hasn't been renewed due to reports claiming that Kody is once again on the lookout for two new wives to wed.
According to Hollywood Life, Robyn's good friend Kendra Pollard named the two women that Kody is eyeing to wed.
While speaking with the publication, Pollard said, "Kody doesn't want to keep dealing with his current wives. They haven't been supportive of him, so Kody has planned the ultimate revenge."
Pollard went on to say that Kody wants to wed their family's good friend Amanda, as well as his step-niece Mindy Jessop.
"The Browns have mingled with Amber on and off over the years. Robyn's not sure, and I'm not sure, if this is a legit love or for TV purposes. It's freaky, and Kody swore that he would never do this. Kody's on the wife topic again. I just refuse to go there... I am so frustrated," she said.
In other news, another reason for the possible cancellation of "Sister Wives" has to do with the fact that there are no new and interesting storylines for the show.
Season 7 centered on Robyn and Kody's marriage, as well as the birth of their child Ariella Mae.
Season 6 was about Meri and Kody's divorce and it also touched on the topic of the former's catfisher.
"Sister Wives" airs Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on TLC.
