"Game of Thrones" season 7 cast member Gemma Whelan recently opened up about Yara's sexuality in the hit HBO series.

In an interview with Vulture, the actress slammed speculations suggesting that Yara is bisexual.

"There's a new saying going around, 'pansexual,' which means if she's up for it... I think she says, 'I'm up for anything.' That's her ethos. I don't think she swings any way in particular, other than the way she feels at the time. She's just open-minded, which fits the character perfectly," she said.

In season 6, Yara's open-mindedness was revealed during her scene with Daenerys (Emilia Clarke). In that scene, Yara told Daenerys wanted from her, as well as what their uncle Euron (Pilou Asbaek) wanted from her too.

The latter's plan has always been very clear and this is to wed Daenerys. However, his plan is not necessarily genuine because the minute he gains power over the Iron Throne, Euron will kill her.

Meanwhile, Whelan also spoke with Making Game of Thrones to say that her character Yara has obvious similarities with Dany.

"It's clear as the scene plays out that Yara quite likes Dany. We share a lot of little looks and there's some playful language in how we talk to one another - Dany asks if the Iron Islands ever had a queen, and Yara says, 'No more Westeros.' They recognize the girl power undertow between the two of them," she explained.

In other news, Whelan also opened up about Daenerys and Yara possibly getting into a romantic relationship with each other in the future.

"Emilia and I both enjoy the idea. We get along very well, so we enjoy working with each other quite a lot. So maybe! I don't know! It's up to the writers and the machinations of their minds. We like each other, we reflect each other, and whether it's more than friendship is irrelevant, really," she said.

Fans of Daenerys and Yara have also spoken up by saying that they want to see the two female characters get into an actual relationship in the upcoming season.

"The Walking Dead" season 7 will premiere in April of next year.
