Brock Lesnar is dealing with a serious blow right now following doping allegations tied up to his UFC 200 return. Lesnar performed with a flourish against Mark Hunt, dominating the match and eventually hacking out a unanimous decision.
While his successful return was something to talk about, equally interesting was his failed drug tests. The UFC is under fire for taking the quick route and making things easy to get the match done and now the kinks are starting to show.
If the WWE talent wellness policy is to be followed, Lesnar would have to be suspended for 30 days. Doing the match, that would mean Lesnar will have to sit out several weeks which means no WWE appearance for now.
The WWE however made an announcement that Lesnar is not due to return until Aug. 21, Fox Sports reported. If so, the target date is way over the 30-day suspension period, the same one the company meted on Roman Reigns.
If this is the case, Lesnar’s match with Randy Orton will push through even if the WWE suspends the “Beast”. But did Lesnar really use steroids?
A former teammate who prefers to be identified only as “D2” has come out in the open to stand up for his comrade, Hollywood Life reports. According to D2, the findings of USADA may be traced to a special inhaler Lesnar uses.
Per D2’s claim, Lesnar suffers from “Reactive Airway Disease” (RAD) and such can be treated by an inhaler known as “Advair Diskus”. The inhaler is something that “The Beast” has been using for years now, particularly during the late Spring and Summer months.
The drug is classified as a Beta 2 Agonists and was meant to aid Lesnar in breathing. Right now it remains to be seen if such will hold up though USADA will likely look into the claim to see if the inhaler is tied up to the failed drug tests.
Regardless, it looks like Lesnar’s WWE path is cleared up thanks to the date and perhaps the inhaler angle. But as far as the UFC is concerned, the issue seems to be far from resolved. Though he hasn’t mentioned it, there is a good chance that Lesnar may look to fight again inside the cage.
