Bethesda has officially rolled out the highly anticipated Fallout 4 1.6 patch that brings in new features and fixes such as the much needed ExitSave feature for those who often forget.
Another highlight in the Fallout 4 1.6 update is that Codsworth now knows 300 more new player names that he can say during the player interactions and dialogues. Players can now marvel at the screen when Codsworth says their name.
The new 1.6 update was tested for several weeks by PC players and Bethesda is now releasing the update to all platforms. Fallout 4 players will also have new Add On specific icons in the Workshop mode, VG247 has learned.
Unfortunately, the Fallout 4 1.6 patch for the PlayStation 4 still does not fix the problems with the mods. Bethesda has said that the mod support for PS4 players will have to wait as they are still unable to resolve some issues that needs the help of Sony themselves.
Besides the new features, there are also several bug fixes and patches that may improve the overall gameplay experience of the player. The Fallout 4 1.6 patch fixes problems with VATS targeting and issues with several missions such as the "Boston After Dark," FirstPost reported.
Other fixes include mod tweaks, deleted save games, stuck companions and more. The patch also makes settlements easier to organize as it fixes the issue with dead settlers still being qualified to be assigned to supply lines.
The ExitSave feature probably is the main highlight of the Fallout 4 1.6 update for all platforms. Some players often forget to save before they exit the game as they rely on the default autosave feature during their gameplay.
However, autosave only works on certain times and often randomly. For instance, the game does create an autosave when the player enters a point of interest, but anything after that could be lost once the game is exited.
Fallout 4 players that wish to install the 1.6 update or patch can do so by just opening their game client while connected to the Internet. Steam will also automatically download the update as long as there is an active Internet connection.
