"JoJo's Bizarre Adventure" is slated to debut on Adult Swim's Toonami in October. Toonami has been working hard this year to include new anime such as "Hunter x Hunter," "One-Punch Man," and "Dimension W" to its growing lineup.
Adult Swim vice president and creative director Jason DeMarco confirmed on July 21 via Twitter that "JoJo's Bizarre Adventure" TV anime series will premiere on Toonami from October. However, full episodes of the most popular part of the anime "JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders" are available on Crunchyroll.
Spanning eight parts, "JoJo's Bizarre Adventure" is an anime series adaptation of the manga series by Hirohiko Araki. The latter was first published in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump in 1987 but it has since moved to Ultra Jump.
Apart from one part, each tells the same story of the long-running Joestar family member who has supernatural powers. The character must collaborate with newly found friends to save the world from enemies who have such supernatural abilities.
The first six parts, including "Phantom Blood," "Battle tendency," "Stardust Crusaders," "Diamond is Unbreakable," "Vento Aureo," and "Stone Ocean" happen on the same dimension. The last two parts of the anime, "Steel Ball Run" and "JoJolion," which are now being published, occur in a different timeline.
The anime series has been very popular since its beginning, covering light novels, action figures, video games, a jewelry line, and several anime TV series. Luckily for fans interested in watching the anime, the English broadcast will commence from the start, that is "Phantom Blood and possibly run up to "Diamond is Unbreakable," which is now airing in Japan.
However, it is important to note that this is not the first time "JoJo's Bizarre Adventure" English-dubbed anime has come to the United States. Warner Bros. Home Entertainment released Part 1 and Part 2 of the series on DVD with an English dub. Now, Viz Media announced earlier this month that it would release the first part of the anime on Blu-Ray with English dub.
Currently, fans can watch the series with subtitles on the official Viz Media website. Here is a sneak peek for more information:
