Rain is set to re-ignite his singing career with a music comeback before the year ends.
The singer turned actor Jung Ji Hoon, more commonly known as Rain, is planning to return to the music scene. The South Korean celebrity's plan was announced through R.A.I.N. Company, the singer's entertainment agency, on Thursday, July 28, Soompi reported.
Rain's entertainment agency stated that the musician has been looking forward to meeting his fans as a singer again before the end of the year. However, given the singer's current drama project, preparations for Ji Hoon's music comeback will start after the end of his filming activities. The agency also shared that their target for singer's return to the music industry has been set for the second half of 2016.
Avid fans may recall that Rain became famous in South Korea as a singer and performer prior to his acting debut. He appeared in the hit drama "Full House" alongside "Descendants of the Sun" actress Song Hye Kyo. He also became a popular singer across many Asian countries and in other parts of the world.
Rain's popularity has given the South Korean star the opportunity to appear in a few Hollywood movies. He previously starred in "Ninja Assassin" and appeared in the 2008 film "Speed Racer." The singer has also completed several Korean dramas such as "The Fugitive: Plan B," as well as "My Lovely Girl" where he starred opposite f(x) girl group member Krystal.
The singer last appeared in the SBS drama "Please Come Back, Mister" that aired in early 2016. In the said drama, he portrayed the character Lee Hae Joon whose body was temporarily possessed by the spirit of an overworked man named Kim Yeong Soo. Most recently, Rain has joined the cast of the Chinese drama "Endless August."
The musician's participation in the said project was announced in early June by the R.A.I.N. Company, allkpop reported. Rain plays the male lead in the upcoming Chinese mellow drama opposite f(x) group member Victoria. Filming is currently ongoing where some of the locations are said to be in Canada's Montreal and several Chinese cities.
