Universal Pictures' "The Boss" was released in April bringing two HBO stars together - Peter Dinklage of "Game of Thrones" and Timothy Simons of "Veep." Dinklage and Simons cracked each other up on the set of the film.
"The Boss," which is now available on DVD and Blu-ray, has Dinklage as Renault while Simons is his associate Stephan. The two actors have a hilarious rapport on the set. Both did not meet prior to the film but they have an instant chemistry, according to MovieWeb.
Renault sees himself quite a contemporary samurai, a bit of a semblance of Dinklage's job in "Game of Thrones" where swords and other weapons cause lots of bloodshed and violence. In a deleted scene from "The Boss," which debuts on iTunes on DVD and Blu-Ray on July 26, Tuesday, he is unhappy that his ex-girlfriend Darnell bounced back from prison and has started to create business success with her aide, USA Today reported.
The film marked the return of Melissa McCarthy as well as her husband and director Ben Falcone. McCarthy, who stars in "Bridesmaids" and "The Heat," leads the Universal Pictures Home Entertainment's new comedy. The film's DVD and Blu-ray even feature more fun and hilarity with extended scenes, gag reel, deleted scenes and an alternate ending not seen in movies.
The Digital and Blu-Ray HD feature extras such as the exclusive look of McCarthy's original comedy performance as Michelle Darnell. Big time Darnell was jailed for insider trading. After serving her term, she is ready to rebrand herself as the country's sweetheart, but not everyone forgive and forget her.
With no one to scam and nowhere to go, Darnell has to move in with former aide Claire (Kristen Bell) and her young daughter Rachel. From her lowest point, she finds ways to rebuild her empire. "The Boss" also stars Kathy Bates and Cecily Strong as well as "Groundlings" alumni Michael McDonald, Damon Jones, Steve Mallory and more.
Meanwhile, Renault still keeps feelings for his ex whom he thinks is "the crouching tiger to his hidden dragon." He releases his anger to Stephan and sensei Alvin (Alvin Chon).
