In December 2015, UFC set the Ronda Rouse-Holly Holm rematch in Las Vegas for July 9, 2016. However, the bout did not take place because Holm could not wait for Rousey’s recovery and fought but lost to Miesha Tate on July 23, so the much-anticipated rematch may never take place at all.
However, since Rousey’s stunning loss to Holm in November 2015, she has not returned to the ring, sparking rumors she is pregnant. The speculations were fueled by a tweet from another MMA fighter, Cris “Cyborg” Justino, who wrote, “I keep hearing the rumor @RondaRousey is expecting and no longer fighting #ufc205 if true congrats on the new life,” reported New York Post.
Besides the rumors, Rousey’s latest public appearance at the Reebok Women event in early July showed the former champ also gained weight which could have sparked the speculation.
But according to TMZ, the 29-year-old former champ assured UFC President Dana White she is not on the family way. However, she is open to having babies with boyfriend Travis Brown who stood by her side after she lost to Holm.
Rousey admitted she become suicidal after her humiliating defeat to Holm, but the only thing that prevented the MMA fighter from taking her life was bearing children by Brown. “I was thinking I was meant to have him when I was at my lowest. I wouldn’t have made it without him,” Rousey told TV host Ellen DeGeneres in early 2016, reported Fox.
But Rousey’s return to the octagon ring remains a big question mark, said White who wants the former champion to fight again in early 2017.
