Many fans were surprised when Dolph Ziggler ended up becoming the new No. 1 contender for the WWE World Championship. According to the latest rumors, Ziggler may turn heel to create more drama heading towards his showdown with WWE World champion Dean Ambrose at SummerSlam.
In the very first ever SmackDown Live after the WWE Draft, Ziggler defeated A.J. Styles, John Cena, Apollo Crews, Baron Corbin and Bray Wyatt in a Six-Pack Challenge. It was an unpredictable win for The Showoff but many fans, who were once clamoring for his push, complained the outcome of the match.
Ziggler appropriately hit back on the wrestling marks with a great post on his official Twitter account. Nevertheless, it is great to finally see the former World Champion to get the spotlight once again.

However, an Ambrose vs. Ziggler WWE World Title match at SummerSlam is not the best the company can offer but it could be built up with a heel turn. According to former WWE and ECW star, Taz, the WWE should turn Ziggler to the bad guy heading towards a showdown with Ambrose.
Taz pointed out that heels will draw money and SmackDown is in need of a new heel, Ringside News reported. The blue brand currently has Styles and Wyatt as the top two bad guys. Corbin has the potential to be a top heel but he still needs to improve his promo and in-ring work.
According to Daily DDT, Ziggler needs to be the heel during this WWE World Title feud since Ambrose is the babyface champion. It is noted that the 36-year-old superstar could use all the real-life frustrations of his career to turn bad.
Ziggler can use the fact that he was not given a proper run with the World Heavyweight Championship or stars like Cena, Roman Reigns and Randy Orton getting the push because management loves them. He can also mention part-time wrestlers like The Rock and Brock Lesnar taking away the spotlight to hardworking wrestlers like him.
That kind of heel turn has been used a lot before with CM Punk eventually becoming a legitimate main eventer. Also, Ziggler is a natural heel and he can just give Ambrose a superkick to make it official.
Nevertheless, it should be noted that these are just rumors and speculations. Check out the video below to see Ziggler become the No. 1 contender for the WWE World Championship.
