If reports are anything to go by, these variants will ditch the Windows OS and will instead run on Android operating system.

Other features include a USB Type-C port, a liquid cooling system, aluminum and magnesium shell and a 5.5-inch AMOLED screen. Furthermore, one of the Surface Phones will be powered by Intel Atom X3 processor, BGR reported.

A 20 MP Carl Zeiss camera at the back and a Surface Pen is expected. Accelerometer, barometer, proximity sensors and compass are some of the other features. It is expected that the price range of the smartphones will be around $700 to $1100.

However, it is important to note that the tech company has not confirmed these rumors.

According to new reports, Microsoft is pushing out a firmware update for the Surface Pro 3. The company has just rolled out a new firmware update for the SP 3. The changelog for the update is not available yet. However, reports suggest that the update brings a fix for the battery problems that were reported recently.

This is the second update for the Microsoft device in a span of 15 days. The last firmware update was released on July 21 to fix small battery niggles.

Earlier, many users of Microsoft Surface Pro 3 have complained of battery drain. Initially, it was thought to be a hardware problem; however, Microsoft later said that it was software oriented.

The software company acknowledged the issue and said that only some users were affected. Microsoft said that the battery drain problem could be addressed via software update.

Hence, a possibility exists that the latest firmware update rolled out for the tablet could fix the SIMPLO battery issue.
