New "Spider-Man: Homecoming" details and spoilers will feature the possible emergence of the Sinister Six and Gwen Stacy in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
It seems that another villain from Spider-Man's rogue gallery will likely appear in Marvel Studios upcoming film "Spider-Man: Homecoming" as Twitter username Griffin Newman 2016 tweeted the toy panel at the 2016 San Diego Comic Con event and "accidentally" confirmed that Shocker is added to the film.
When several twitter users asked for more details, Newman stated that Diamond Select did not show any pictures of what the figures would look like, since they do not have enough reference points for specific characters at this point in time.
It seems that Shocker will be joining Adrian Toomes/Vulture (Michael Keaton and the Tinkerer (Logan Marshall-Green). With three villains present in "Spider-Man: Homecoming", fans speculated that Marvel Studios could bring the Sinister Six in the MCU, Melty reported.
Sony previously had plans for a "Sinister Six" film as part of the "The Amazing Spider-Man" franchise along with "Venom". It was a direct competition for Warner Bros. produced film "Suicide Squad", which is also a super villain focused movie.
"The Amazing Spider-Man 2" film credits already teased the formation of the Sinister Six members such as Green Goblin, Kraven the Hunter, Black Cat, Doctor Octopus, Rhino and Vulture. Unfortunately, Sony scrapped their plans for "Sinister Six" since they have announced that Spider-Man will be moving to the Marvel Studios.
These leads to the question if the Sinister Six will be included in the MCU if "Spider-Man: Homecoming" became a huge hit in cinemas worldwide. Comic book fans will just have to wait for more details from Marvel Studios soon.
Meanwhile, several rumors are making rounds regarding the possible appearance of Gwen Stacy in "Spider-Man: Homecoming".
Gwen Stacy is one of the popular love interests of Spider-Man in the Marvel comics next to Mary Jane Watson. The character has been featured in several live-action "Spidey" films such as "Spider-Man 3" played by "Jurassic World" actress Bryce Dallas Howard and "The Amazing Spider-Man" series played by "Zombieland" star Emma Stone.
It is rumored that "The Nice Guys" star Angourie Rice is being eyed for the role Gwen Stacy, even though Marvel Studios has not made any formal announcements, MovieWeb reported.
"Spider-Man: Homecoming" will be release on July 7, 2017.
