Bandai Namco recently expressed their opinion regarding the cross-play platform of "Tekken 7" for PS4 and Xbox One. When a fan requested to include an online cross play compatibility for the said game, "Tekken 7" game designer Michael Murray quickly responded in Twitter to the inquiry, saying to ask Sony since Microsoft has already gave their go signal.
In a separate report, it was noted that Sony has been open to cross-play but only for PC games like Final Fantasy XIV, Street Fighter V and Rocket League, Attack of the Fan Boy reported. However, for PS4 and Xbox One games, the entertainment company did not open any games for the said platforms. The publication added Microsoft was also hesitant about the cross-play compatibility in the past, but is now open to venturing to it.
It can also be noted that there had not been any cross-play for console to console, only PC to consoles were existent. However, the compatibility may be possible if all parties involve try to work on the said platform. Fans may have to wait for a little more time when the collaboration finally happens.
Meanwhile, Bandai Namco already revealed the release date for "Tekken 7." It was during Microsoft's presentation at E3 2016 when Katsuhiro Harada and Murray unveiled the specific date for its launching, N4BB reported.
The report also noted that several characters will be returning for the upcoming installment. It was also confirmed by Harada that Bob from the previous "Tekken 6" will be appearing in the new game.
On the other hand, a new character named "Master Raven" will also be introduced. Unfortunately, Jun Kazama, a fan-favorite character may not be coming back, but Harada said though she will not be included in the beginning, she will eventually be added in a DLC.
"Tekken 7" will also be available on PC which can be downloaded online via Steam. It will be open for Xbox One, PS4 and PC at the start of 2017.
