Niantic has unveiled its latest game patch for the highly popular mobile gaming app "Pokemon Go" that includes some enhancements, bug fixes and a new Pokemon tracking feature.

The game developer has recently released its patch 1.3.0 for Android devices and patch 0.33.0 for iOS devices. The said "Pokemon Go" game update contains several bug fixes to address the way the mobile app's Poke Ball throws has been awarding XP bonuses to players, Nintendo Everything reported. It also fixed previous game issues where a player's achievements listed inaccurate Medal icons.

The battery saver mode for iOS devices has also been re-introduced to the game. Niantic noted that it has already fixed the issues previously reported about the said feature. Other game enhancements that the developers added to "Pokemon Go" includes improvements to curveball throws, an in-game reminder for gamers to stop using the app while driving, as well as a one-time chance to change a trainer's nickname.

Niantic has also addressed a few minor text concerns and added new visuals for Team Leaders Spark, Blance and Candela. However, an interesting update included in the game's latest patch would be the different version of the three-footprint tracker that has been removed from the mobile app. The said new feature has been added to the game on a testing phase basis.

The company explained in its patch notes that it introduced the new Pokemon tracker to help test its features. The said tracker has been named "Sightings" and allows gamers to view nearby Pokemon creatures. A game review posted on Forbes mentioned that the new feature has been successful in helping players track specific characters.

Avid gamers may recall that Niantic's original three footprint tracker has provided fans a way to assess a Pokemon's distance. The game developer removed it in July after it stated that the said feature has not been meeting the company's expectations for the mobile app.

At this time, it is still unclear whether Niantic will decide to introduce more enhancements to its new "Sightings" mode once testing activities have been completed. Players have been hoping and clamoring for a better tracking feature to help in capturing Pokemon characters.
