New details on "Metal Gear Survive" will feature more stealth and co-op only gameplay and the spin-off will not be at full price.
Konami announced a new "Metal Gear Solid" video game title called "Metal Gear Survive" along with a teaser trailer during this week's Gamescom 2016. Konami confirmed that the spin-off game is actually a sequel to "Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes" and will feature a four-player team instead of the series more prominent protagonist, Snake.
As seen in the trailer, the events of "Metal Gear Survive" takes place in an alternate dimension were one soldier from Big Boss/Snake's unit survived Skull Face's attack from Mother Base, but ended up being sucked in by a black hole and landing in another world.
Players will encounter zombie like monsters in the area and must fight for survival. Luckily, players will have allies in the form of survivors and must work together to stay alive.
Konomi might be trying a new approach for "Metal Gear Survive" since the series creator Hideo Kojima left the company due to dispute over the development "Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain", the gaming fans do not to be seem happy about the game.
Its reveal trailer has an overwhelming number of dislikes, similar to the hate targeted at the "Metal Gear Solid 3" pachinko machine, with the main complaint seemingly about the lack of the Snake.
Many believed that "Metal Gear Survive" has jump shifted from its stealth and espionage genre to that of a survival-horror, but Konami clariefied that it is not the case, and it might still have the stealth features that fans loved about the "Metal Gear Solid" series, Gamerant reported.
In other news, its seems that the price details for "Metal Gear Survive" are not exactly as it seems as Konami announced that the game will not be in full-price.
The game was listed at $60 USD, but Konami brand manager Richard Jones told Eurogamer that it will not be full priced, instead the game will be at $30 similar to "Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes".
It is unknown yet if Konami will settled with "Metal Gear Survive's" price range. In addition, a single-player component is also possible in the new "MGS" sequel as fans will have more to him from the developers very soon.
"Metal Gear Survive" will be released on 2017 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC platforms.
