Nintendo has unveiled another new Pokemon character for the upcoming 3DS game "Pokemon Sun and Moon."
The gaming company released its latest "Pokemon Sun and Moon" trailer during its panel at the Gamescom event held on Thursday, Aug. 18. The new Pokemon is said to be one of the strongest creatures in the upcoming game's roster of characters, Game Rant reported. The creature is a mix between a dragon and turtle, named Turtonator.
Turtonator has been classified as a fire and dragon type Pokemon. Similar to a dragon, it has a long tail although its head resembles a star with several points. The new Pokemon also has a large turtle-like shell on its back. The said creature can only be found around volcanic areas in the upcoming game's Alola region.
The new trailer has also unveiled some of Turtonator's attack and defense moves. The said Pokemon can defend itself with its Shell Armor ability. It also appears to have a high-defense level that would make the creature difficult to defeat. On the other hand, one of the turtle-like dragon creature's attack move has been dubbed the Shell Trap. When activated, it will send out a laser-like explosion aimed at the opponent that would next attack the Turtunator.
Meanwhile, some players may become curious about the Turtonator's full appearance. The said new Pokemon would only show its back during fights. It would only move its head sideways to get a view of its surroundings. The creature's belly, which is said to be its vulnerable part, is always turned away from its opponent.
However, given its abilities and its physical design, the Turtonator may be one of the formidable Pokemon creatures in "Pokemon Sun and Moon." The said character may also likely become one of the most popular and sought-after creatures in the game, as indicated in the same report.
The Turtonator joins the list of recently unveiled Pokemon characters in the upcoming 3DS game. Nintendo has recently introduced Meowth, a dark type Pokemon, as well as Marowak and Raichu, an electric and psychic type creature, Polygon reported. A new group of enemies called the Team Skull has also been unveiled.
"Pokemon Sun and Moon" will be released on Nov. 18 on the Nintendo 3DS platform.
