The gamble of producers of “Uncontrollably Fond” to guest Ryu Seung-soo and Yoon Park for episodes 11 and 12 paid off. Inquisitr reported that two Korean TV viewership companies logged slight increases in the show’s ratings.
TNmS Rating found that in Seoul National Capital Area, viewers of "Uncontrollably Fond" went up to 9.9 percent from 8.1 percent, while across the country, the viewer rating grew to 9.6 percent from 7.3 percent. Meanwhile, for Nielsen Korea’s measure, viewers in Seoul National Capital Area jumped to 10.6 percent from 7.8 percent and nationally the rating went up to 9.9 percent from 7.9 percent.
It took three more episodes for the Hallyu to get again a double-digit rating since the last time it did was in Episode 8.
The news portal noted that the two- to three-percent viewership hike is a big improvement for “Uncontrollably Fond” on account of its steady decline in viewers blamed on Bae Suzy’s poor acting. It added, the continuous decline in the drama’s ratings until episodes 11 and 12 was mostly “a cat-and-mouse relationship” between Shin Joon Young, the character of Kim Woo Bin, and No Eul, played by Bae Suzy.
However, being with different partners for the two main actors was a wise strategy on the part of the producers since it obviously rekindled audience interest in “Uncontrollably Fond.”
At the end of episode 12, No Eul is with Choi Ji Tae, played by Lim Ju Hwan, while Shin Joon Yong is partnered with Yoon Jeong Eun, played by Lim Ju Eun.
On Thursday, KBS announced that “Uncontrollably Fond” and “Wanted” would resume their normal schedules this week. Also set to air on its regular schedule is “W,” according to MBC.
