Niantic has released a new update for Android and iOS version of Pokemon GO. It brings the new feature of Implemented Pokemon Appraisal.
Niantic has released version 0.35.0 of Pokemon GO for Android users and version 1.5.0 for iOS device owners. According to the official Facebook page of Pokemon GO, the latest update brings Implemented Pokemon Appraisal feature.
Candela, Blanche and Spark are the team leaders of the Team Valor (red), Team Mystic (blue) and Team Instinct (yellow) in Pokemon GO. The new Pokemon Appraisal Feature will allow players to learn about the attack and defense capabilities of different Pokemon through their Team Leader.
When players reach level five in the game, they are provided with a chance to choose a team of their choice and enter Gym battles. Hence, the new feature is mainly applicable to players who have reached level five in Pokemon Go.
In all Pokemon games including the Pokemon GO, Pokemon creatures have different Individual Values (IV). These values are hidden in the game, but they constitute values for Attack, Defense and Stamina, TheBitBag reported.
It indicates that Pokemon from the same species have different IVs. For instance, even if two Pikachu are on the same level, they are not same. The attack and defense capabilities of a Pokemon can reveal how well it can fight and defend in a battle.
As mentioned before, these stats are hidden and Pokemon GO players are making use of Pokemon GO IV calculators made available by third-party companies. However, Niantic is shutting down access to such IV calculators.
The new Pokemon Appraisal feature now provides a way to check and improve the IV of a Pokemon within the game. Hence, it can play an integral role in winning Gym battles in Pokemon GO.
Apart from this major update, the update brings along minor fixes. On Facebook, Niantic has mentioned that it is still working on releasing exciting new features in the near future for Pokemon GO players. The company has previously confirmed that it would be introducing features like Pokemon trading and worldwide gym battle leaderboards in the future.
