"Scandal" season 6 just dropped the official title for episode 1 and it will be called "Survival of the Fittest."
Even though the hit ABC series won't premiere until January of next year, there are already tons of speculations on what will happen in the premiere episode.
In the finale for season 5, Olivia Pope (Kerry Washington) was faced with the difficult task of representing and campaigning for Mellie Grant (Bellamy Young). She also urged Jake Ballard (Scott Foley) to run as Mellie's vice president.
However, Olivia's world was shattered when she discovered that Cyrus Beene (Jeff Perry) has also decided to run for vice president. It is believed the "Survival of the Fittest" has something to do with the elections.
The best scenario for Olivia would be if both Mellie and Jake would win. They will both head to the White House and the lead character will continue to work with them throughout their time as president and vice president respectively.
However, it seems that Cyrus and his presidential partner Governor Francisco Vargas.
Meanwhile, fans will also learn some new information about the members of Olivia's Gladiators team who were very much involved in Mellie and Jake's campaigns.
President Fitzgerald Grant's (Tony Goldwyn) presidential reign is about to come to an end and there are rumors that he will attempt to win Olivia back now that he will no longer be very busy at the White House.
In other news, "Scandal" season 6 was moved back from its usual September premiere date to accommodate Washington's real life pregnancy. The actress is expecting her second child with her husband Nnamdi Asomugha.
The filming date for "Scandal" season 6 hasn't been confirmed yet. What is only known is that it will take place after Washington gives birth because her pregnancy won't be written into the show.
"Scandal" season 6 will premiere on ABC in January 2017.
