The latest details for the new "God of War" sequel for the PlayStation 4 will feature a rumored combat gameplay this week and Krato's wife to have a major role in the game.
Santa Monica Studio announced new gameplay features for the new "God of War" video game as game director Cory Balrog tweeted that the sequel will be have a longer and action-packed storyline as humanly as possible and teases more enemy units will on screen as he added that there will be a combat testing for the game this week.
Balrog added that the new "God of War" sequel will not include mini-games unlike the previous titles and that it would be translated into as many languages, PlayStationUniverse reported.
Previous reports stated that "God of War" will have Kratos and his unnamed son tackling creatures from Norse mythology as lead gameplay engineer Jeet Shroff revealed that the gameplay controls for the sequel will be more of trigger buttons rather than face buttons, as gamers will get yo be more personal with Kratos rather than wide, arcing blows from previous "GoW" titles.
The father and son dynamic will come into play as Kratos can summon his son to assist him in battle. Gamers can upgrade the "Father and Son" feature to progressed in the game as lead gameplay engineer Jeet Shroff explained that Kratos' son can go toe-to-toe with his father and even kill enemies on his own.
Santa Monica Studio changed the progression system so that it encourages gamers to play the game more than one time. It will entice people to explore to see new things and Balrog confirmed that "God of War" is not fully open-world, but it is less linear than the previous games as they have opened up the areas to make them more expansive.
In other news, it seems that the new "God of War" game will feature Kratos' unnamed wife playing an important role in the storyline.
Balrog stated in an interview that Kratos' wife will play a critical part within the story, but he did not reveal any further details at the moment. He added that sequel is being worked by the original "God of War" crew and teased that Kratos and his son will be visiting some of the nine realms in Norse mythology.
For now, Santa Monica Studio is looking to hire people in their development team as they are looking for Lighting Artist and a Senior Animator, PlayStationLifeStyle reported.
Sony has not yet announced a release date for "God of War" on the PS4, however, the official website of Amazon revealed the pre-order details of the game at $59.99 with a released date placeholder on Dec. 29, 2017.
