Netflix's "Daredevil" is moving forward with Season 3. Although the series won't return until after "The Defenders" makes its debut, fan theories have rolled out with respect to who the next big bad might be.
There are certainly a lot of contenders, and with all the other Marvel shows hitting Netflix in the coming months, there's certain no telling what could happen next. But despite these, fans are rooting for the appearance of a popular villain in "Daredevil" Season 3. Even Charlie Cox himself is entertaining the idea.
Cox and fans of the show all want to see Bullseye in "Daredevil" Season 3. Sure, Matthew Murdock has faced tough enemies in the last two seasons, but none of them compare to the psychopathic assassin.
Speaking to Screen Rant about "Daredevil," Cox said the show won't be complete if Bullseye doesn't come along some way somehow.
"If we are fortunate enough to continue making the Daredevil series, I can't imagine doing a run of Daredevil where Bullseye doesn't show up at some point. It would be great to have him around at some point," Cox stated. "When you read the comics, it's etched in a Daredevil memory, all that stuff."
Although Cox has no idea as to who would take on the role, there were rumors that actor Jason Statham was being considered for the part. According to Cinema Blend, his name was attached to the role shortly after the first season of "Daredevil" debuted on Netflix.
Bullseye was a no-show in Season 2, but his possible debut in Season 3 could put even more tension in Matthew Murdock's life. In the comic books, Bullseye was known to have made Daredevil's life a living hell. He killed Elektra and Karen Page, both of whom have been romantically linked with Matt in the series.
The last time we saw Matt, he and Karen Page were very much in love. Perhaps, Bullseye is the much needed element to throw the Daredevil off balance. It's also possible that he could work together with Kingpin, who made a comeback in the second half of "Daredevil" Season 2.
"Daredevil" Season 3 premiere date is yet to be confirmed.
