Shadow Warrior 2 release date is now pegged for October 13 for the PC as players are excited to finally play the reboot's sequel with Wang helming the story once again.
The first title was a surprise hit as it was just supposed to be a onetime reboot of Shadow Warrior with a twist. With all the love it has received, developer Flying Wild Hog and publisher Devolver Digital decided to follow up with a sequel which is going to be released soon.
After about three years in development, Shadow Warrior 2 will finally grace the PC gamers in October. Lo Wang will still be the protagonist but the trailer shows that he may have allies battling the hordes of demons in the way.
Shadow Warrior 2 will allow players to bring three friends online for cooperative play, Flickering Myth has learned. They can still go solo if they want to hack and slash their way through the demon-infested lands that they will travel on.
Of course, there will be new weapons that can be used by the players. Pre-ordering Shadow Warrior 2 will give the Razorback Katana and a 10 percent discount for the game itself.
Relics will still be part of the collectibles in the game as well as the different armors. One interesting new mechanic is that the developers removed the Stamina system so that players will be able to move and kill more without draining any energy.
In an interview with GamingBolt, PR representative Tadeuz Zielinski said that Lo Wang's story in the sequel involves his need to be left alone. Instead of the glamorous life he had before, he now wants to be by himself after the tragedy of his demon friend dying right before his eyes.
"Homeless in a cruel world with only the clothes on his back, Lo Wang set up a crude living space inside a former nightclub on the outskirts of the Yakuza's town known as The Calamity. He makes ends meet doing jobs too dirty or too difficult for the local Yakuza," Zielinski said.
PC gamers will be the first to receive Shadow Warrior 2 on October 13 through Steam, GoG and Humble. The Xbox One and PlayStation 4 version will be rolled out in early 2017.
