Asian idols tend to stay single for a long time or marry late, just like Jerry Yan of Taiwanese boy band, F4. The former leader of F4 is now the only remaining bachelor among the four boys. It is after his bandmate Ken Chou, who played Xi Men in the massive hit "Meteor Garden" tied the knot with actress Vivien Han Wenwen in Bali, Indonesia, on Sept. 3, Saturday.
Yan, who previously dated Chinese model Lin Chi-Ling, is now dating young model Seanna Chang CN. The 39-year-old actor and singer acknowledged his newfound love through his agency in June. The couple has been spotted last year singing in late night karaokes as well as touring the United States and Japan.
It was thought Yan was the next F4 member to walk down the aisle after Vic Chou married his long-time girlfriend in Nov. 2015. Vaness Wu got hitched in 2013.
Chu and his girlfriend Han were rumored to have already married in a secret ceremony in March though some reports dismissed the issue, according to the Philippine Entertainment Portal. The 37-year-old actor and his wife first met in Beijing Film Academy where he went back to study and where Han was also an alumnus. They were rumored to be a couple when pictured holding hands in a mall in June 2015.
The F4 boys reunited in Chu's wedding, except Chou. Wu and Yan reportedly surprised wedding guests when they arrived at the venue ahead of the ceremony, ABS-CBN reported. Photos of Chu's wedding became viral when they were uploaded in Yan's Facebook account.
The fame of the F4 boys soared when "Meteor Garden" aired in 2001 and captured the hearts of many television viewers. It was a heartwarming story about a girl from a poor family whom the wealthy F4 leader fell in love with. The Taiwanese drama was the first adaptation of the Japanese anime "Hana Yori Dango" which later made into the South Korean hit drama "Boys Over Flowers."
After "Meteor Garden," the quartet continued to star together in other drama series. They likewise released albums and became very popular in Asia like China, Japan and Philippines.
