"Sleepy Hollow" Season 4 has been controversial since Lieutenant Abbie Mill's (Nicole Beharie) death that drew the ire of fans from the last season's finale. Recurring cast Janina Gavankar surprised "Sleepy Hollow" fans with a photo with lead star Tom Mison stirring speculations that Ichabod Crane has already moved on from Mills in the new season.
Gavankar shared the photo taken at the Atlanta-based Dragon Con on her Instagram on Sept. 5, Monday. Her casting for "Sleepy Hollow" Season 4 came in July following Mill's demise in the show. The "True Blood" alum will play as Ichabod's new partner as Secret Service agent Diana.

Coming up with "Sleepy Hollow" Season 4 was a tough decision to make without Beharie, TV Line quoted Fox entertainment president David Madden as saying, who spoke about the new season at the Television Critics Association summer press tour in August. During the event, Madden made it clear that Fox contemplated to continue or not without Beharie because obviously, she and Mison are the backbone of the show.
However, things changed when the show's producers convinced Madden to continue for another season because the fans will be disappointed. The writers presented a new line of characters and different storylines that eventually lead to Season 4 reboot.
In the highly-anticipated "Sleepy Hollow" Season 4, fans will see Crane leaving the village of "Sleepy Hollow" to move to New York. Moving into a new place means a lot for Crane, who is trying to forget the memories he shared with Mills. However, fans of Crane and Mills have another chance to see them together as executive producer Clifton Campbell earlier confirmed that Behari will be appearing in the new season occasionally.
"There's a woman of color in a position that not very long ago she wouldn't have been," Mison told E! News in June when he was asked about Beharie's death in the Season 3 finale. "It comes to symbolize so much more. So when something like this happens, when they kill off said character, of course it's going to mean an awful lot more, consequently."
