“W Two Worlds” would end on Sept. 14, and fans of the webtoon want to know if it would be a happy or sad ending for the main characters Oh Yeon Joo, played by Han Hyo Joo, and Kang Chul, played by Lee Jong Suk.
According to Sportsrageous, for Episode 14, Sung-Moo, Kang Chul and Soo-Bong would attempt to save Oh Yeon Joo who died because of blood loss after Sang-Hoon shot her in the back while she attempted to escape in the warehouse. The options available are to use webtoons to bring her back to life, for Sung-Moo to redo the webtoon or to connect the two world and solve the situation.
Movienewsguide reported that Song Jae Sung, author of “W,” had finished writing the script for the series. The entertainment website said fans of the show are equally divided between those who favor a happy and a sad conclusion. Many wish the series would end with a happy ending for Kang Chul.
Song Jae Jeong had deliberations with Jung Dae Yun, the director, on the final episode since it is a production challenge to bring the idea of two worlds together. Although manwha world, the two-dimensional world, and the three-dimensional reality must be screened together, the director, instead of being rattled by the challenge, opted to focus on the characters’ emotions.
But more than just a new show with interesting solid production, “W” is the pawn of MBC in its constant battle with KBS. For this round, KBS failed with its drama, “Uncontrollably Fond” plummeting in viewership. However, despite “W” topping Korean charts, it failed to match KBS’s big winner for 2016, “Descendants of the Sun.”
The two female leads of the MBC and KBS dramas are also being pitted against each other, especially after “Uncontrollably Fond” star Bae Suzy has been criticized for her poor acting skills. But Han Hyo Joo parried any questions related to Bae Suzy.
