Bioware has just released some impressive Mass Effect: Andromeda 4K gameplay footage that came from the PlayStation Neo, or what is now known as the PlayStation Pro after Sony revealed the new upgraded PS4 console.
Some gamers have become more excited when they saw the new Mass Effect 4 trailer but others seem to be skeptical at best. The 4K Andromeda footage shown was taken from the in-game engine straight from the new PlayStation Pro.
It shows the protagonist wandering about a seemingly deserted colony during night time. While all of the snappy lights and colors do look amazing, it does not really show the whole glory of the game.
Mass Effect: Andromeda uses the Frosbite engine from DICE which is the same one used in the recent Battlefield games, VG247 has learned. Bioware demonstrates the 4K beauty of the game and other visual effects but there seems to be some problems with the animation of the characters as some YouTube commenters pointed out.
Critics should not be quick to judge the whole game based on just one trailer alone. Players should also consider that the game is still in development as the Mass Effect: Andromeda release date is set around 2017.
Shepard will not be leading the story and Mass Effect: Andromeda players should expect two siblings as the game's protagonists, Polygon reported. Creative director mac Walters revealed that the male and female Ryder are actually brothers and sisters plus they exist in the same game world at the same time.
It is not clear yet as to how the siblings will interact or if a gender choice could impact the whole game. For now, Walters said that the Ryder family is full and the names will be revealed in the future.
Mass Effect: Andromeda will reportedly run 30 frames per second on both the PS4 and the PlayStation Pro despite the fact that the latter will have more horsepower under the hood. More Mass Effect 4 news, details and updates will be revealed when Bioware launches a new trailer in November that will open more of the game's story and plot.
