It seems like Meredith will be helping Alex cover up for an attempted murder he committed. It can be seen in the extended promo of the series' upcoming season when Meredith told Alex in a low tone, "We're the bad guys."
Although the latter told Meredith that she needs to turn him over, it seems like the doctor has some other plans to exempt him from getting into prison. It can be recalled last season that Alex almost beat Andrew to death, the reason why the former is facings a predicament he should resolve.
The extended version also featured several scenes of what viewers anticipated for the next chapter. Meanwhile, several fans are positive about Alex finally getting a story line. In a report by TV Line, the comments section are full of positive responses over the show's development. However, one expressed her dismay over the new story saying she has perceived the character to be a caring doctor and friend who would not actually commit the crime.
Some who have commented also did not like the idea for the TV series. It can be recalled that the upcoming season will take off from the aftermath of Jo's revelation to Alex. In season 12, Alex tried proposing to Jo, but the latter cannot marry him because of being married to another man whom she ran away from because of an abusive behavior.
Jo's backstory will finally be unraveled in season 13, after Alex was caught up in a fight with Andrew, EW reported. The report added that showrunner Shonda Rhimes is not even bothered they will be tackling the issue of domestic violence. The 46-year old revealed it is time for Jo's story to be told, and incorporating domestic violence in a show should not be an issue.
Rhimes even said this also becomes one of the reasons why Alex and Jo were brought together, because of their "scrappy upbringings." The producer added this could also be the very reason that would drift them apart.
Season 13 of "Grey's Anatomy" premieres on Sept. 22, Thursday, 8 pm at ABC. Watch the extended version of the promo below.
