"Mechanic: Resurrection" stars Jason Statham and Jessica Alba both worked hard to be in shape for "Mechanic: Resurrection," where he plays the mechanic-assassin while she, her girlfriend. Alba also appeared fabulous in the film and looks great doing martial arts; and to do action, one needs one to be fit.
The 35-year-old actress who mothers two kids still looks sexy and stunning in her martial arts moves. She found the Israeli type of self-defense Krav Maga fun.
Alba hired a trainer to help her with the moves. She had undergone exhausting workouts which were more on cardio, coupled with weights and yoga. She did some of the stunts herself, and got hurt at times.
Alba plays Gina, Arthur Bishop's (Statham) girlfriend who is abducted and to save her, Bishop had to make three impossible kills.
On the other hand, Statham was once a competitive diver, competing in the 1990 Commonwealth Games. He practices yoga, gymnastics, pilates and dancing to make sure he does not piled on pounds as he ages.
The actor used to worked hard and then relax, but now, maintaining his body a bit more is like preventive medicine. He needs to be consistent and balanced, according to Morning Ticker.
Statham started to listen to his body when it comes to workouts. Before a workout, he works on his mobility and makes sure he stays away from injury as he cannot afford to lose time healing up. He works hard and smarter at the same time, Foods 4 Better Health reported.
"The Mechanic" lead actor works on a part of his body until he gets his goal for that part. Then he focuses on another part. He also does boxing, martial arts as well as moves for conditioning and strength.
Statham follows gymnastics and Olympic lifts for his strength training. He enjoys using gymnastic rings, kettlebells, parallettes and barbells.
Aside from maintaining a disciplined approach to exercise to keep himself in good shape, the British action star wants to keep his mind busy learning new things. He wants to learn three more languages - Spanish, French and German. He would like to study Spanish and French first, then German next.
