Ryan Lochte, the Olympic swimmer who has been banned for 10 months following a false robbery claim at the Olympic Games in Rio, was swarmed by protesters after his performance on the Monday night, Sept. 12, premiere of reality dance competition "Dancing With the Stars."

Following Lochte's dance routine with partner Cheryl Burke, the pair was waiting on stage for the judges' comments when the scary incident took place.

Carrie Ann Inaba had just started giving her critique after the performance when all hell broke loose and two protestors wearing anti-Lochte t-shirts rushed the stage, according to E! News.

Luckily, the protestors were taken down by security before they could cause any real harm to the 32-year-old athlete. The stage crashers, who were part of a group of seven to eight people wearing the same anti-Lochte t-shirts in the audience, were later handcuffed and escorted from the premises.

"Excuse me, excuse me," Inaba yelled (see video below), as some commotion could be heard in the background and although the incident took place off-camera, security guards can be seen rushing across the stage, with audio suggesting that some kind of scuffle had taken place, according to Entertainment Tonight.

Even though the camera remained focused on Inaba and a replay of Lochte and Burke's performance played side-by-side, the judge's facial expressions spoke volumes about what went down on the stage in front of her.

Host Tom Bergeron immediately cut to a commercial break but upon return, a visibly shaken Lochte had this to say: "I'm doing good. So many feelings are going through my head right now. A little hurt. I came out here and I wanted to do something I was completely uncomfortable with, and I did."

The two protestors were taken into custody and charged with trespassing, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. The group of protestors in the audience were also booted out.
