Eibar began their campaign this term with a 1-2 loss to Deportivo La Coruna on the road. The team had won their next two games since then, though, which placed them at the sixth spot of the Spanish top flight table at the moment, tied on points with Las Palmas and Barcelona but has a lesser goal difference.

Their most recent match last Sunday ended in a 2-1 victory over lowly club Granada CF at the Estadio Los Carmenes despite the squad being a man-down since the 32nd minute of the match after goalkeeper Asier Riesgo was sent off, as per SkySports.

Yoel Rodriguez was fielded in by head coach José Luis Mendilibar to fill-in for Riesgo with midfielder Jota also sitting down.

Despite the disadvantage, Los Armeros still scored the opening goal at the 43rd minute with a right-footer from midfielder Pedro Leon to give the visitors a one-point lead at the interval.

Granada equalized at the 76th with a goal from Ukrainian forward Artem Kravets, but the ten-man squad grabbed the lead back in stoppage time courtesy of a goal from striker Sergi Enrich.

Meanwhile, Sevilla continued its unbeaten streak to three games after a 2-1 victory over surprise squad Las Palmas at the Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán last Saturday, via ESPN.

Las Palmas scored early at the 16th minute to open the game's scoring with a goal from Spanish winger Tana.

The visitors held on to the lead until defender Pedro Bigas was sent off at the 88th after getting booked with his second yellow card of the match.

The game's complexion changed right away and the Sevillistas took advantage, scoring two goals in the next five minutes, courtesy of Pablo Sarabia and Carlos Fernandez Luna at the 89th and 90th+4 minutes, to pull off the come-from-behind victory.
