The upcoming 2017 Super Bowl may feature one of Hollywood's multi-awarded musicians. Lady Gaga is said to be in talks to perform in the Super Bowl 51 halftime show.
The singer and songwriter may be the next big act to appear in the upcoming 2017 Super Bowl Halftime show. Sources told Billboard that Gaga has entered negotiations to perform in the said sporting event. The Super Bowl 51 is set to happen at Houston's NRG Stadium on Feb. 5, 2017.
However, for the upcoming Super Bowl 51, event organizers have yet to disclose their list of planned performers. The National Football League (NFL) may be determined to sign up Gaga as part of its upcoming halftime show following her 2016 Super Bowl national anthem performance.Avid fans may recall that the "Born this Way" singer gave a powerful rendition of the "Star-Spangled Banner" during the Super Bowl 50.
Although an NFL representative admitted to Billboard that they have yet to reach a final decision about the performers for the upcoming 2017 Super Bowl halftime show. The representative mentioned that the event organizers have already had initial discussions with several musicians. The NFL spokesperson did not mention the names of the performers that organizers have already contacted.
The said representative also acknowledged the fans' growing anticipation for the upcoming event. The NFL spokesperson stated that they were appreciative of the interest and excitement that fans have displayed for the said Super Bowl show.
The gaming event's halftime show has been one of the highly anticipated segments of the Super Bowl. Over the years, famous musicians and bands have appeared on stage to wow the audience with their electrifying performances. In the Super Bowl 50 held in February, Coldplay shared the stage with Bruno Mars and Beyonce.
In other news, Gaga recently dropped her latest track titled "Perfect Illusion." Many fans have wondered whether the song referred to the singer's former fiancé Taylor Kinney given its lyrics that included the lines "it wasn't love." However, the multi-awarded musician clarified the speculations during her appearance at Andy Cohen's radio show "Andy Cohen Live" on the SiriusXM channel.
Lady Gaga revealed that the song is about love and being intoxicated with the said feeling. The singer even conveyed her affection for Kinney despite their break-up. She stated, "I love Taylor so, so much, and this song is not a hit out against Taylor. He's my best friend."
