Rockstar Games will need to cover up for “Grand Theft Auto 6” for now with the next game instalment not expected to appear earlier than a speculated 2018 release. This means that “GTA 5” will need to step up as the gamer developer tries to keep its player base occupied.

There is no definitive word on where Rockstar Games is at right now as far as “Grand Theft Auto 6” development phase, Cinema Blend reported. Most of the things coming out right now have been pure speculation.

Among the things that “Grand Theft Auto 6” could come out with are bigger, new maps and possibly virtual reality integration. While maps are only to be expected, the part about VR integration is up for debate.

While most game titles out these days have tried to adopt VR technology, it will be interesting if the fad will continue if and when “GTA 6” does come out in the open. One point of contention is that VR headset sales have not been doing so well.

According to Fortune, the sales of VR headsets haven’t been that impressive which could hinder its rise and integration to current and upcoming game titles. Pricing and the presence of cheaper VR glasses could be a reason though it may all depend on how people value resolution.

That said, the best Rockstar Games can do right now is come up with additional content for the “GTA 5”. New DLC and expansion could buy the company some time in an effort to retain the ones who are tired of seeing the same kind of gameplay and missions over and over again.

This route is, of course, a temporary reprieve with most still focused on seeing a “GTA 6” coming. A consolation for most in waiting is that Rockstar has not really canceled plans altogether.

Two events to look forward to next year are E3 and GamesCom. A “GTA 6” debut may be far off but all fans want right now is to hear its current state plus a short game trailer to see that one is truly coming.

The fact is that “Grand Theft Auto 6” is on the way as reported via the video below.
