As previously reported, "Stranger Things" Season 2 has been confirmed and there's already a lot of buzz about what's about to go down in the show's sophomore run. We've listed down everything we know so far to fill up your "Stranger Things" Season 2 fix.
Titles reveal potential new characters
"Stranger Things" Season 2 has been picked up for a 9-episode order. The titles for the Season 2 episodes already tease a lot about what's to come, especially with respect to new characters. The first episode is titled "Madmax" which hints at a new character.
According to TVLine, the show is casting Max, a character described as a 12-14 year old female who is "tough and confident" and whose "appearance, behavior and pursuits seem more typical of boys than of girls in this era." The description is similar to that of Eleven, so there's a chance that this character also knows something about the Upside Down.
There are two other new characters: Max's brother Billy and a 30-something gender-neutral character named Roman.
Eleven is alive
Although Matt and Ross Duffer previously said that Eleven's involvement in "Stranger Things" Season 2 is still "up in the air," fans are certain that Millie Bobby Brown's character will be back.
David Harbour, who plays chief Hopper, gave this notion some substance in an interview with Mirror.
"He (Hopper) may understand that Eleven exists in some form. And so he's got this box out in the woods where he gives her food," the actor said. This also raises the possibility that Harbour will be the one to find Eleven and reunite her with Mike and the rest of the gang.
Season 2 is a sequel
The sophomore season will continue the story from the first, which means a lot of unanswered questions will be given light.
"The plan is to continue with this set of characters while introducing a few critical key new ones next season," producer Shawn Levy told /FILM. "So I'll just say that a lot of the big mysteries get answered at the end of Season 1, but we are very much kind of unearthing new problems and questions that merit future stories and future investigation in the most enjoyable way."
"Stranger Things" Season 2 release date
The show is expected to return to Netflix in 2017.
