Triple H has only appeared once on WWE television ever since WrestleMania 32 and it happened on the August 29 episode of Monday Night Raw. However, the latest rumors suggest that Triple H will be returning again at the Clash of Champions pay-per-view.
The Game made his surprise return to Raw on August 29 when he helped Kevin Owens win the WWE Universal Championship. At first, he hit the Pedigree on Roman Reigns, who defeated him at WrestleMania 32, with Seth Rollins taking advantage of it to eliminate The Big Dog.
But Triple H had other plans as he also delivered the Pedigree to Rollins, who is his former protégée. Owens was in shock but he quickly covered The Architect to get the win. Triple H raised his hand and quickly exited through the crowd.
Ever since that fateful episode of Raw, Triple H has not appeared or explained his actions. However, it seems like he could be returning to Raw's first brand-exclusive event since the WWE Draft, Clash of Champions.
According to Cageside Seats, Triple H may make his permanent return to WWE television at Clash of Champions. He is expected to be an authority figure once again on Raw while also creating tension between Raw commissioner Stephanie McMahon and general manager Mick Foley.
However, this will likely lead to a bigger feud against Rollins, who is going to challenge Owens for the WWE Universal Championship at Clash of Champions. KO has not held the title for very long and Triple H might end up helping him again.
A feud between Triple H and Rollins has been rumored since last year with a possible match at WrestleMania 32 canceled due to the latter's knee injury. But now that Rollins is healthy and Triple H still in top shape, fans are dying to see a mentor vs. student matchup.
According to The Inquisitr, the WWE will slowly buildup the feud and the Rollins ultimate face turn. A match might happen at Survivor Series in November but the likeliest event is next year's WrestleMania 33 in Orlando, Florida.
On the other hand, several reports indicate that Owens might drop the title to Rollins due to the recent dip in ratings and live event attendance. Nevertheless, these are just rumors and WWE tends to change their plans depending on several situations.
