Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge smartphones are soon going to receive Android 7.0 Nougat update. Both the smartphones have been spotted testing the latest Android OS.
Except for Google Nexus smartphones, none of the smartphones that are available in the market have received Android 7.0 Nougat update. The Galaxy S7 with model number SM-G930F and the Galaxy S7 Edge with model number SM-G935F have been spotted on GeekBench benchmarking site running on Android 7.0 Nougat OS. This indicates that the South Korean tech company is now testing the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 smartphones with Android 7.0 Nougat OS, GSM Arena reported.
Interestingly, only the Exynos 8890 chipset editions of Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge have been spotted on GeekBench. The Exynos 8890 versions of both the phones are available in countries outside the U.S. and China. The unlocked editions of Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge are likely to receive Android N upgrade first.
Since both the smartphones are being tested together, it is likely that Android 7.0 Nougat update will be rolled out to the owners of Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge in quick succession or simultaneously. It is likely that Samsung would release an updated version of its TouchWiz UI for both the phones.
Galaxy S7, S7 Edge Android N Update Coming in October?
In August, South Korean company had confirmed that the Galaxy Note 7 that comes loaded with Android Marshmallow OS will be upgraded to Nougat in 2 to 3 months. Hence, the Note 7 is expected to get Android N by November, Korea Times reported.
The Note 7 sales have suffered because of the defective problem. Hence, Samsung will be making sure that the new OS for Note 7 works without any performance issues. Hence, Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge smartphones are expected to receive Android N before it arrives to Galaxy Note 7
Speculations are rife that the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge users will get the latest Android upgrade in the next month. The Galaxy S6, S6 Edge, S6 Edge+ and Galaxy Note 5 are also expected to get the update by the end of this year or early 2017.
