"Descendants of the Sun" Season 2 rumors continue to go around the internet due to popular demand. The hit South Korean drama series, which starred Song Hye Kyo and Song Joong Ki, continue to be talked about by fans, both old and new.
While word on the project is limited, it's reportedly confirmed that "Descendants of the Sun" Season 2 might be in the works. According to Soompi, KBS is set to produce a second series in order to repay the fans for their support. The project will be released in 2017.
"We are advancing with projects that the production team and cast can consent to," KBS said. "You can say that we are currently leveling the ground for a house to be building. We also have to think about the aspect of pre-production."
There are several plot rumors for "Descendants of the Sun" Season 2, the most popular is that the focus will shift to the show's second couple, Jin Goo and Kim Ji Won. In an interview with HIGH CUT, Jin Goo revealed that he would be interested in doing another "Descendants of the Sun" if the fans would allow.
Although the clear focus of "Descendants of the Sun" was the relationship of the main leads played by Song Hye Kyo and Song Joong Ki, Jin Goo and Kim Ji Won's team up also amassed a huge following for their cute and funny antics.
A different theory suggests that the story would continue on Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo and how their characters' relationship blossomed as time went on. Did their respective professions come in the way of their relationship? Will Song Joong Ki's Yoo Shi Jin face another life-threatening mission?
