Game developer Joycity revealed the game development process of "3on3 Freestyle." They have also invited players on the PlayStation 4 platform to try out the closed beta.
Managing director Marc Guerrier wrote on the official blog of PlayStation of the game developer's announcement of their multiplayer street basketball game for PS4. The game developers are excited to have gamers to test out their game and give them feedback.
The game developers have been making basketball video games that have online multiplayer features since 2005, Guerrier revealed. They have decided to bring the game to the PS4, because they wanted to challenge themselves to make a truly authentic street basketball experience for everyone.
The game developers wanted to see this game from two sides. The first was from a player who plays pickup basketball games on the street. The other one was from a veteran of sports games.
In order to satisfy both perspectives, the game developers went on a global journey to meet other gamers all around the world. They also went to different street basketball courts to watch street basketball teams, players, and fans and interact with them. They went to landmark courts like Los Angeles, San Francisco, and many more.
After that journey, the managing director revealed that their development team took their observations back to the office. They used these to build the authentic characters, settings, features, and gameplay of their street basketball game. They also kept in touch with many street basketball leagues, and teams to improve their development of the game.
Guerrier revealed that their development does not stop there only. They are planning on developing update of the game to be released on a monthly basis. They are also offering the PS4 owners a free PS4 theme, and exclusive discounts on different items like logos, clothing, and accessories for the PS Plus users.
According to the official website of the video game, players can sign up for the first closed beta test of the game now. The developers said that the tickets for the invitational test are limited. They will use the players' gameplay experience and their feedbacks to further develop their multiplayer game.
The beta test will run from Sept. 26 until Oct. 16. The game will be released in Q4 2016 exclusively for the PS4.
