With Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt heading towards their divorce proceedings, the actor expressed his desire to meet his kids whom he has not seen since the filing of the divorce.
The split confirmation has come following long-term speculations about their toppling relationship. "He really wants to see the kids and to work out an arrangement that is best for them," E! Online reported while citing an insider. "[He] wants to work things out privately and amicably."
The media outlet has confirmed that the Department of Children and Family Services in Los Angeles County was conducting an investigation into the allegations on Pitt relating to misbehavior with kids while on a private plane journey.
The couple has been together for 12 years starting from their dating period in 2004. According to the reports, Jolie has already decided to file for divorce on Monday. According to the reports, the actress has noted their irreconcilable differences as the reason for separation and also demanded the physical custody of their six kids - Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, and twins Knox and Vivienne.
While Jolie has suggested granting visitation rights to Pitt, she did not demand spousal support in the divorce application. According to internal sources, the 52-year-old actor knew that their marriage was not working, but he was still shocked when the actress told him about ending the relationship.
"She sat down, talked to Brad and offered to file [for divorce] together," a source claimed. "She said, 'This is what I'd like to do.' She explained everything. Angelina did what she felt she needed to do."
There were several speculations regarding the cause of split of the most adorable couple of Hollywood. Few reports claimed that the actor had an extra-marital affair with "Allied" co-star, Marion Cotillard. Jolie, according to reports, hired a private investigator to keep a watch on her husband and find out if he was loyal to their relationship. Other speculations included Pitt's bad parenting, couple's different lifestyles, etc.
Pitt said that he was quite "saddened" by all this and he was really concerned about his kids now and nobody else. He also requested the media to give both the actors some space to cope with this issue.
Meanwhile, Cotillard released a statement on Instagram that she had no role in the divorce of Jolie and Pitt. In addition, she confirmed her second pregnancy with husband Guillaume Canet.
According to the People, Pitt has been under investigation for child abuse. The Los Angeles Police Department and the L.A. County Department of Children and Family Services were investigating the matter where Pitt abused one of the couple's kids verbally as well as physically in a private plane. He was accompanied by Jolie at that time.
