Will “Descendants of the Sun” actress Song Hye Kyo also bag the Most Beautiful Woman in the World 2016 title like she won the Goddess of Asia title on Sept. 24?
A post by a fan on actress’s Instagram account asked followers of the Hallyu star to support her for another online beauty title. So far, Song Hye Kyo, according to the latest count, is in 9th place with 12,310 votes, according to the website of the contest.
It would not be impossible for her to take the lead like she did in the Goddess of Asia title when she initially started in 2nd place and slipped to 6th place later. However, an online appear to fans and supporters resulted in Song Hye Kyo moving up to 2nd place a few days before the online voting contest ended and with her eventually winning the title.
She could bank on her popularity, recent wins in the 52nd Baeksang Art Awards and 2016 APAN Star Awards as well as her wide base of fans who grew in number after she did “Descendants of the Sun” with Song Joong-ki.
The current leader of the Most Beautiful Woman in the World 2016 online contest is a Turkish actress, Tuba Buyukustun with 70,046 votes.
In between her and Song Hye Kyo are Maine Mendoza of the Philippines (64,153 votes), Song Ji Hyo of South Korea (24,052), Kathryn Bernardo of the Philippines (21,811), Sanaya Irani of India (21,100), Tzuyu Chou of Taiwan (15,830), Hazal Kaya of Turkey (13,342) and Park Sooyoung of South Korea (12,972).
Other South Korean actress not far from Song Hyo Kyo’s 9th place are Seo Hyn-un (10th), Kang SeulGi (12th), Jeon somi (15th), Bae Joohyub [Irene] (17th), Park Shin Hye (18th) and Kim Taeyeon (19th).
Fans may add their own female celebrity on the list by uploading a photo to the Contest Button or leaving a comment. The website reminds fans no to upload the same photo already in the list. One vote is allowed for each device every 24 hours. The contest ends on Jan. 22, 2017.
The organizers of the contest has a similar online contest for Korean female celebrities which is topped by Song Ji Hyo.
