Since Korean actor Song Joong-ki is apparently no longer included in the upcoming “Descendants of the Sun 2,” the only production that the fans of the 31-year-old actor could look forward to is “Battleship Island” which he is currently filming.
Fresh from his three awards at Sunday’s 2016 APAN Awards, the actor would be seen again – although briefly – in an upcoming tvN drama “Man to Man.” My Daily reported he agreed to make a special appearance in the drama as his way of supporting his former crew at “Descendants of the Sun.”
The new drama’s writer is Kim Won Suk who was part of the writing team of the 16-episode blockbuster drama. His role will be Yeo Woon Kwang, an assistant director, according to AllKpop. Because it is only a cameo role, Song Joong-ki’s role would be short only, yet impactful.
He will be having scenes with Park Sung-woong who plays a stuntman-turned-actor and made it big playing villain parts, reported Drama Beans. The character is also hiding from a dark secret in his past.
Other key roles in “Man to Man” are Park Hae-jin as a black ops agent on a secret mission to protect a Hallyu star, the role of Park Sung-woong. The co-stars are Yeon Jung-hoon, Kim Min-jung and Chae Jung-ahn.
The shooting of “Man to Man” starts in November. The drama is schedule to air in 2017 on JTBC.
