The latest details of "Overwatch" will feature six new stages, two new playable characters and new loot boxed in the works this month.
Blizzard Entertainment officially announced the Halloween themed DLC update for "Overwatch" this month as game developer Jeff Kaplan gave gaming fans an update of what is store for the "Halloween Terror" event this month.
According to Kaplan, the loot boxes in the "Halloween Terror" event will contain more than a 100 Halloween themed items for each "Overwatch" character such as skins, sprays, highlight intros, victory poses, player icons, voice lines and, of course, credits, Gamerant reported.
Unfortunately, the "Halloween Terro" will note feature its own limited game mode like the "Summer Games" in "Overwatch". The good news however is that Blizzard Entertainment is working on two new playable characters and six additional maps within the game.
Kaplan stated that he and his team are working more actively in creating new characters for "Overwatch" and tease that one of them will be released very soon, while the second hero will likely launch sometime in 2017, Express reported.
Blizzard is currently testing the new character and they put placeholder models and effects and animations just to prove that the new hero is fun to play with.
It is heavily rumored that the mysterious stealth hero Sombra could launch sometime within this year as Blizzard will likely make the announcement on Oct. 16-17, a few weeks before this year's Blizzcon event.
Other speculations suggest that Athena could come out first before Sombra as the latter will be a support hero with an Omnic body based from an old photo of the Overwatch team right before the organization disbanded. Her Omnic body will have a female shape with a single eye and a logo of her name on her head.
Gaming fans have shown there support for the "Halloween Terrors" DLC by making fan arts for "Overwatch" characters such as Genji, Zenyata, McCree, and Reaper. Genji will dress up as a magician, Zenyata as a ghost, McCree as a musketeer and Reaper as the Headless Horseman. The Halloween Terror event in "Overwatch" will start this month until Nov. 1.
"Overwatch" is currently available for the PS4, Xbox One and PC platforms.
