The fifth installment of "The Sims" may not be coming soon since EA is still struggling to regain its lost sales from its recent installment. Poor sales of "The Sims 4" got EA developing a new way to catch up with this loss. A new DLC entitled "City Living" will be released this November for "The Sims 4."

Some believe this will either make or break the fourth installment since the additional content will be requiring payment from players. In a statement released by EA and Maxis, the officials said that "The Sims 5" development will be solely based on the market performance of the current "Sims" version, Neurogadget reported.

When asked about the current development of its fifth installment, officials have responded on Twitter that they have not yet started anything about "The Sims 5." However, some reports have stated the team behind "The Sims" is already working on the development of the next installment.

As of the moment, there are even rumors spreading that "The Sims 5" will adapt the VR or AR Technology once released. If the launching date history would be used as reference, EA consistently released a new iteration in a span of 4 to 5 years.

Starting with the original "The Sims" which was launched in February 2000, it was followed by "The Sims 2" in 2004 succeeded by "The Sims 3" in 2009 after 5 years of development. After another gap of five years, "The Sims 4" was launched in 2014. This information has sparked speculations that if ever EA releases a fifth installment, it will most likely be available by 2019, Sims5Game reported.

Readers are still advised to take everything with a grain of salt as all information stated are still subject to changes. For other details surrounding "The Sims" franchise, watch the top 5 complaint about "The Sims 4" in the video below.
