The Country Music Association (CMA) has revealed its first set of performers for the 50th Annual CMA Awards. The event will be held from the Bridgestone Arena, Nashville, Tennessee on Nov. 2 and will have a live broadcast on ABC Television Network.
According to The Oklahoman, this year's CMA Awards show will be co-hosted by Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood. Aside from hosting duties, both singers will perform on stage. Theu will join other CMA Awards 2016 performers and top nominees Dierks Bentley, Eric Church, Maren Morris and Keith Urban.
This year's host and performer Paisley has reportedly won 14 CMA Awards making him no. 3 on the top CMA Awards Nominee of all time, the news website revealed.
On the other hand, Underwood is an Entertainer of the Year first-time nominee. She is also nominated in other categories such as Album ("Storyteller"); Musical Event "The Fighter" which she shares with Urban; and Female Vocalist of the Year which she won three times from 2006 to 2008.
With 22 nominations since his first win in 2011 as New Artist of the Year, Church is considered top nominee for second year in a row. He is nominated for the following categories - Male Vocalist, Album ("Mr. Misunderstood"), Single, Song and Music Video ("Record Year").
Meanwhile, Bentley is a 20-time nominee and has been a two-time winner for the Horizon Award now known as New Artist of the Year. This year, he is a contender for the following categories - Male Vocalist, Album ("Black"), Music Video ("Somewhere on a Beach"), and Musical Event ("Different for Girls") with first-time CMA Awards nominee Elle King.
First-time nominee Morris is competing in five categories including Female Vocalist; Album ("Hero"); Single and Song of the Year ("My Church"); and New Artist of the Year.
Urban has four CMA Awards nominations this year for Entertainer, Male Vocalist, Album "Ripcord"), and Musical Event ("The Fighter") with Underwood.
CNN has also learned that this year's Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award will be given to Dolly Parton.
Moreover, in celebration of its 50th anniversary, CMA has released music video "Forever Country" which features 30 award-winning names in country music.
