Actress Amber Heard is making waves as she debuts as Mera in a newly released photo for "Justice League." Fans have seen the other actors suit up as their respective characters, but the Queen of Atlantis' look remained a mystery until now.
Heard is taking on the role of Mera, wife to Jason Momoa's Aquaman, in the upcoming "Justice League" movie. This first look at the character is courtesy of director Zack Snyder who took the photo with his own camera.
"Saw this hydrokinetic vision come out of the sea and snapped a photo with my Leica," Snyder tweeted together with the photo.

The costume bears a striking resemblance to the original design in the comics, particularly her headpiece. The look was lauded by many comic book loyalists. Mera's costume is designed by Michael Wilkinson.
Heard excitedly shared details about her costume in an interview with ET Online. "It's interesting. It's like, half suit of armor, half scales," the 30-year-old actress said. "It's strange... We're in the process of building it now, so it's coming along."
Although Heard is only playing a supporting role in "Justice League," she's going to play a more prominent part in the "Aquaman" movie in 2018, which will be directed by James Wan.
In the meantime, "Justice League" is currently filming in Iceland after wrapping up shooting in the United Kingdom. Momoa, who plays Aquaman in the franchise, shared photos on the set with Snyder.
Also filming is Willem Dafoe, who plays Vulko, and Gal Gadot, who portrays Wonder Woman. Ben Affleck is also scheduled to film in Iceland for his scenes as Batman/Bruce Wayne, Comicbook.com reported.
Although details with respect to the "Justice League" plot is a top secret, there are speculations that the Iceland filming is for a particular scene where Batman and Wonder Woman try to make contact with Aquaman as they gather recruits for their superhero team. No word on Ezra Miller's and Ray Fisher's filming schedule.
The DC Extended Universe continues with the premiere of "Wonder Woman" on June 2, 2017. It will be followed by "Justice League" on Nov. 17, 2017 and "Aquaman" on July 27, 2018.
