Bill Goldberg is set to return to the WWE this week on Monday Night Raw at the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado and answer the challenge of Brock Lesnar. The latest rumors have an update on the deal between Goldberg and the WWE including more appearances on Raw before Survivor Series.
The 49-year-old wrestling legend was challenged by Lesnar's advocate Paul Heyman to a match in last week's episode of Raw. Goldberg confirmed on Twitter that he will be on Raw this week and give his answer to Lesnar and Heyman.
If Goldberg indeed makes it to Raw this week in Denver, it is hist first appearance on WWE television since leaving the company in 2004. His last match was against Lesnar at WrestleMania XX with Stone Cold Steve Austin as the special guest referee.
The former WCW and WWE world champion recently became part of the WWE 2K17 video game as a pre-order exclusive character. In the commercial for the game, a match with Goldberg and Lesnar was teased and it continued until Heyman's challenge last week.
According to Cageside Seats, the WWE and Goldberg have finalized a deal at the start of October with the current plan being just the one match against Lesnar at Survivor Series. Even though the WWE has not confirmed it, all signs and rumors point out to Lesnar vs. Goldberg II happening this November.
It is also noted that the plans for Goldberg could change depending on the reaction he will get at Survivor Series. However, the event will be held in Toronto, Canada wherein he is not expected to be cheered since he was the one who ended Bret Hart's career.
Goldberg is also expected to become a part-time superstar for the WWE since he is scheduled to appear on more episodes of Monday Night Raw, per Sportskeeda. After his appearance in Denver this week, he is advertised to appear on the Halloween edition of Raw at the XL Centre in Hartford, Connecticut and the November 14 episode of Raw in Buffalo, New York.
The report noted that both Goldberg and Lesnar are scheduled to appear on the show in Buffalo which is the Survivor Series go-home edition of Raw. It is expected that two behemoths will have a face to face encounter before their rematch.
