Lee Jong-Suk, 27, is set to make a special cameo appearance in MBC's new drama "Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-Joo." The upcoming Wednesdays-Thursday drama will reunite "Cheese in the Trap" stars Lee Sung-Kyung and Nam Joo-Hyuk.
The much-awaited cameo appearance of the Hallyu star is intended to show support for his YG labelmates, according to Naver. In addition to that, Chorokbaem Media, the company who worked on his recent hit-drama "W - Two Worlds" has been attached to produce "Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-Joo."
Not much has been revealed about Jong-Suk's role in the upcoming MBC drama. Nonetheless, some fans speculated that his cameo role is pivotal to the storyline of the coming-of-age sports drama.
The good news came after MBC released the first still images of Sung-Kyung's titular character in the upcoming drama. The said images are from a particular scene filmed on Oct. 1 at Jeongneung, Seoul, South Korea.

Sung-Kyung, who made her acting debut in 2014's "It's Okay, That's Love," will portray a naturally skilled weightlifter, Kim Bok-Joo, who have an aggressive personality. She shrouds her uncertainties and delicate heart under her strong exterior.
For Sung-Kyung to portray the titular character, she is currently going through a massive transformation by adding a little weight. In a recent interview with fashion magazine InStyle, as cited by Naver, the "Queen's Flower" actress revealed she practice a lot of weightlifting and that she already gained around 4 kilograms (8.8 pounds).
The screenplay of the upcoming "Weightlifting Fairy Kim Book-Joo" is inspired by the life of Olympic gold medalist, Jang Mi-Ran. It will be directed by program director Oh Hyun Joong in view of the script penned by Yang Hee-Seung.
Apart from Sung-Kyung, the new MBC drama will also star Nam as a genius swimmer, Jang Joon-Hyun, who suffers a trauma in the wake of being excluded for an illicit beginning. He will be joined by Lee Jae-Yoon, who will portray Kim Book-Joo's attentive and mild-mannered daddy-long-legs named Jung Jae-Yi.
"Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-Joo" is scheduled to hit the airwaves on Nov. 23. Check out the video below for more information:
