The tag team of Enzo Amore and Big Cass were on fire after making their main roster debut on the Raw after WrestleMania 32. However, the team has hit a wall in the past couple of months and the latest rumors have revealed the reason why.
Enzo and Cass instantly became the most over tag team in the WWE since The New Day when they debuted on the April 4 edition of Monday Night Raw. They started their careers by confronting The Dudley Boyz and feuding with them for a couple of months.
On the July 4 episode of Raw, they helped John Cena during his feud against A.J. Styles, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson of The Club. Enzo, Cass and Cena were victorious in their Six-Man Tag Team Match against The Club at WWE Battleground.
Enzo and Cass went on to feud with Kevin Owens and Chris Jericho at SummerSlam wherein they lost cleanly. The 7-foot-0 Cass then had the opportunity to win the WWE Universal Championship but he was the first elimination in the Fatal 4-Way Match, his first clean defeat in the main roster.
The realest guys in the room then lost a series of tag matches to Epico and Primo and they continue to be booked weak in the last few weeks. Many fans thought that the two superstars pissed people backstage and they might have some heat on them.
However, that is not the case as the WWE is still high on both Enzo and Cass. According to Cageside Seats, the WWE has halted the push of the team because they want to put the tag titles on them at WrestleMania 33.
Enzo and Cass are the most over team in the WWE at the moment and winning the titles at WrestleMania 33 would push them through the roof. The current champs are The New Day but they are set to drop the titles once they break the record of Demolition in the next couple of months.
According to ProWrestling.net, the current plan for the New Jersey natives is a match against Gallows and Anderson at Hell in a Cell. The match has not been confirmed but it is the direction the WWE is going.
